Welcome all and thank you for joining our community.
With your revision in full swing, we thought we would post some hints and tips of way that you can use Hippocratix to help supplement your revision.
1) Watching the videos without commentary
When watching the videos for the first time, watch them without commentary by clicking on "Without Commentary" in the Video Library home page
In the video player, click on the blue "Mark Scheme" button to open the mark scheme and critique the cases as if you were an examiner.
2) Structure
The green "Structure" button in the video player is where you can find a simple framework that you can use to help better structure your consultation. We both made use of a similar structure in our exams and found that using this as a baseline was helpful to keep your consultations on track.
3) Videos as a template not a replicate!
Videos are a great tool for your revision however they should be seen as a TEMPLATE for your consultation, as opposed to something that you should REPLICATE. Videos, where they be from Hippocratix or other sources, should not be seen as a replacement for your own consultation style but should be seen as a tool to help you adopt skills that you can assimilate into your own consultation style.
4) Use the community
The community section, is a safe place, away form social media, where you can network and share ideas with other colleagues as well post questions to the team - there is no such thing as a silly question! We are also available via email, if you would like to message us in private - which can be found in the Contact Us section in your Member Home page
Best of luck with your revision and again, welcome to the Hx Community!
Best Wishes
Dr Anuradha Muniyappa & Dr Murali Muniyappa 😀
